He graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 2006 with a degree in pastoral ministries. In 2007, Pastor Freitas and his wife moved to the Bedford area to join New Hope and assist the late Pastor Don Rice in the ministry. Pastor Freitas was ordained in 2016, became the assistant pastor in 2018, and served in that capacity until Pastor Rice’s homegoing in September 2025. He and his wife Mary were church planting missionaries for the 25 years prior to that, in England and Hungary. Pastor and Mrs. Rice truly had a heart for people and served the Lord faithfully in ministry together for 50 years until God called them home in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
